In a recent interview on GBC’s Current Affairs show, Talking Point, the Honorable Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, revealed that the government is taking steps to settle the outstanding arrears owed to the Colleges of Education Teachers Association, Ghana (CETAG) and the trainees on the Nation’s Builders Corps Programmes (NABCO).
During the interview, Minister Ken Ofori-Atta revealed the government’s commitment to addressing the arrears and the demands of CETAG. He assured that plans have been set in motion to ensure timely payments.
However, he emphasized that the payments would be carried out systematically, indicating that the process may take some time to complete.

At present, CETAG is on strike and has been demanding that the government address their request before they return to the classroom.
The strike is a clear indication of their pressing need that the government must attend to swifty. They argue that ormalcy can only be restored after the government has met their demands.

It is hoped that the government’s systematic approach to the payment as said by the Minister will expedite to ensure that CETAG and NABCO trainees receive their arrears and demands in a transparent and equitable manner.
