National Service Personnel Association in Sagnarigu Municipal to Embark on Demonstration Over Unpaid Allowances

In a press release issued by the association on 8th August, 2023, the executives board of NASPA Sagnarigu Municipal expressed their dissatisfaction and frustration with the delay in receiving their monthly allowances.

The personnel under Sagnarigu Municipal are bitterly complaining about the prolonged delay in payment, which leaves them without any means of survival in the midst of economic hardship.

The association pointed out that they are unable to commute to work every day and fulfill their service obligations on an empty stomach.

Furthermore, the current allowance amount of five hundred and fifty-nine cedi (GHc559) is inadequate to meet their basic needs and sustain them until the end of the month due to the high cost of living.

The association emphasized that they are tired of begging to be paid and have reached a breaking point.

“We shall embark on a demonstration on Thursday, 10th August, 2023. Venue: Police Park. Time: 8:00 am,” the association firmly stated.

The decision to protest comes after numerous attempts by the personnel to engage with the authorities and address the issue went unanswered.

The association believes that peaceful protest is the only way to draw attention to their plight and ensure that their concerns are taken seriously.

The demonstration aims to shed light on the dire financial situation faced by these individuals who have dedicated their time and skills to serve the community. It is a cry for fair treatment and prompt payment of their rightfully earned allowances.

The National Service Personnel Association in Sagnarigu Municipal is urging all affected personnel to participate in the demonstration and make their voices heard.

They believe that collective action is necessary to bring about positive change and ensure that service personnel in the future do not face similar challenges.
