GTEC Directs Controller and Accountant General to Withhold Payment for CETAG Teaching Staff

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has issued a directive to the Controller and Accountant General to withhold monthly salary and allowances for the month of August, 2023 to the teaching staff of all 46 colleges of Education (CETAG).

The letter, which was dated 21st August, 2023 and signed by the Director for administration, Dr. Saaka Sayuti, stated that the directive was made at the request of the Honourable Minister of Education.

However, any arrears before August, 2023 should be validated and paid.

The Director emphasized the need for immediate action and cooperation on the matter.

Currently, the leadership of CETAG is yet to release an official statement in response to the directive issued by GTEC.
