The National Service Scheme (NSS) in a release dated 8th October 2023, acknowledged that they have received the concerns raised by national service personnel regarding unpaid allowances for September and arrears spanning from January to June 2023.
The management of NSS assured service personnel that the September allowances have been released to the scheme and are currently being processed for payment as quickly as possible.
In addition, the management of NSS assured service personnel that the allowances for October and the accompanying arrears are also being processed and will be disbursed shortly after the payment of the September allowances.

The management encouraged all service personnel to remain patient and understanding as the standard financial processes are followed to ensure the prompt and rightful payment of their allowances.
Furthermore, the management of NSS commended the service personnel for their patience and resilience while facing the challenges that come with dedicating themselves to serving their country.
As the national service personnel approach the conclusion of their mandatory one-year service to the nation at the end of October 2023, the NSS management wished them well in their remaining period of service.

The NSS management concluded by assuring all service personnel that their concerns are being addressed, and efforts are underway to ensure the timely payment of their allowances.
