Akwidaa, a small town and fishing community in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region, is currently buzzing with news of a Momo vendor who has vanished after using his boss’s capital to stake a bet.
Enoch Cudjoe (21 years), the Momo vendor in question, left his boss, Joseph Eshun, in shock and despair as he fled, leaving behind a note promising to return the money within a month.
Enoch, who recently completed high school, was employed by Joseph in order to earn a living for himself. Joseph claims that he has always been prompt in paying Enoch’s salary, never withholding a single cent from him.

However, on the 12th of October, 2023, Joseph arrived at the shop to find a note on the table with Enoch nowhere to be found.
The note left behind by Enoch read, “Sorry Joseph, I used 2000 cedis to stake a bet and it ended in a loss. That’s why I have run away. I promise to send your money back in less than a month. I am really sorry!”
