Reopening Arrangement for Level 400 Teacher Trainees

Level 400 students in the various Colleges of Education are preparing to commence their first-semester academic activities.

As a requirement of the B.Ed programme, they will spend the entire first semester embarking on Macro-teaching (teaching practice).

Therefore, to prepare for this important aspect of their training, level 400 students are required to report to their respective colleges on January 10th, 2024, for an orientation on the Macro teaching.

Following the orientation, they will report to their assigned basic schools within their college catchment area to carry out their macro teaching on January 14th, 2024.

Throughout the term, supervisors from their respective colleges will visit them at their schools of attachment to provide guidance, supervision, and scoring.

In addition to the macro teaching, they will also be required to conduct action research within their assigned schools, focusing specifically on their classrooms.

This research component aims to enhance their teaching skills and understanding of effective educational practices and provide them with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical settings.

The macro teaching period will conclude on April 11th, 2024 (Basic Schools Vacation Date), after which they will have a vacation break from April 12th to May 31st, 2024.

Level 400 students will resume their academic activities on June 2nd, 2024, to begin their second semester, which will also last for 14 weeks.

The end of their second-semester examination is scheduled to take place from August 26th to September 6th, 2024.

Finally, on September 7th, 2024, they will complete their four-year B.Ed programme, marking the end of their academic year and college life.

Level 400 students are to note that they will spend the entire academic year off-campus due to the in-in-in-out residential policy.
