Colleges of Education Affiliated to University Of Education, Winneba (UEW)

According to the recommendations, level 300 students are required to undertake various STS activities during specific timeframes

There are currently Forty-Seven (47) Public Colleges of Education spread across the country, each dedicated to shaping the next generation of educators.

These colleges are affiliated to the various public universities to ensure quality training for aspiring teachers.

Notably, seven (7) of these colleges are affiliated to the University Of Education, Winneba (UEW).

List of Affiliated Colleges

The Public Colleges of Education affiliated to the University Of Education, Winneba (UEW) include:

  • St. Louis College of Education, Kumasi
  • Presby Women’s College of Education, Aburi
  • S.D.A. College of Education, Koforidua
  • Presby Women’s College of Education, Agogo
  • Methodist College of Education, Oda
  • Bia-Lamplighter College of Education, Bia
  • Presby College of Education, Akropong-Akwapim
  • Savannah College of Education, Daboya

Certification

It is important to note that upon completing a programme of study at any of the colleges above, students will be awarded certificates from the University Of Education, Winneba (UEW)

Admission Requirements

To gain admission into any of the colleges listed above, prospective applicant must meet specific academic criteria based on their educational backgrounds:

Applicants with WASSCE results should possess Credit passes (A1-C6) in three (3) CORE subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and credit passes in three (3) relevant Elective subjects.

SSSCE applicants are required to have credit passes (A-D) in three (3) CORE subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, along with credit passes in three (3) relevant Elective subjects.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) applicants must hold a TVET Certificate II with a Lower Credit (C-) or better in six (6) subjects, comprising three core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant Elective subjects.
