Teacher Trainees Express Disappointment Over Delayed Allowance Payment

Trainees in the Forty-Six (46) Public Colleges of Education have voiced their dismay towards the government for its failure to disburse their allowance for the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.

With the semester nearing its end, students have received no communication from the Students Loan Trust Fund or the necessary stakeholders regarding their expected allowance.

Speaking with Coleman Publications, some trainees questioned the significance of the allowance if it is not delivered on time, as its purpose is to assist them in their training by helping with the purchase of course materials and other necessities within the semester.

Having commenced their academic year in January, these trainees are now urging the government to fulfill its promise by swiftly disbursing their allowances.

They emphasize the difficulties they are facing in their daily lives and the impact the delayed payment is having on their ability to cope financially on campus.
