In an official statement released on March 25, 2024, the Ministry of the Interior has announced the declaration of Friday, March 29th, 2024, and Monday, April 1st, 2024, as statutory public holidays.
The statement, signed by Minister for the Interior Henry Quartey (MP), urges the general public to observe these holidays nationwide.

According to the statement, March 29th will be recognized as Good Friday, a solemn day commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, while April 1st will be celebrated as Easter Monday, marking the resurrection of Christ.
These public holidays are an integral part of the religious calendar for both Christians and non-Christians, allowing citizens to partake in religious services, spend time with family, and engage in leisure activities.
