In a press release dated April 9, 2025, the National Coordinator of the GSFP, Hajia Fati Forgor, extended gratitude to the government for the timely disbursement of funds.

“We deeply appreciate the government’s efforts to ensure the release of funds for the payment of arrears. This move demonstrates a commitment to supporting the caterers who play a pivotal role in the success of the School Feeding Programme,” she stated.

The GSFP, a key initiative under the Ghana-UN Millennium Development Goals programme aimed at combating hunger and extreme poverty, continues to provide nutritious meals to schoolchildren across the nation.

Hajia Fati Forgor further highlighted that the GSFP, under the supervision of the MoGCSP, has embarked on a significant restructuring process.

This reform seeks to decentralize operations, enhance the quality of food served, and ensure consistency in the payment of caterers.

“These measures are part of the government’s broader commitment to improving the efficiency and impact of the School Feeding Programme,” she emphasized.

The press release also acknowledged the crucial role of donor partners in sustaining the initiative.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our donor partners for their continuous support and collaboration. Their contributions remain invaluable in ensuring the success of this essential programme,” Hajia Forgor remarked.
