GES Announces Vacancy for Public Relations Officer at KEEA Municipal Education Directorate

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a vacancy for the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality.

The Municipal Education Directorate invites applications from suitably qualified and competent teachers for this role.

Responsibilities of the PRO

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing communication strategies to promote Directorate activities.
  • Coordinating media relations and responding to public and media inquiries.
  • Preparing press releases, speeches, reports, and official statements.
  • Managing public events and stakeholder engagements.
  • Advising management on public relations matters and crisis communication.
  • Supporting documentation and reporting of major Directorate activities and programmes.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a professional graduate teacher actively serving within the Ghana Education Service (GES).
  • Hold the rank of Assistant Director I (AD I) or above.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate creativity, discretion, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Be ICT literate and proficient in digital communication tools.
  • Have at least three years of experience in communication, media relations, or a related role.
  • A degree in Communication Studies, Public Relations, or Journalism will be an added advantage.

Interested candidates must submit three copies of an application letter along with the following attachments:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Performance Appraisal Form completed and endorsed by the applicant’s immediate supervisor
  • Certified copies of academic and professional certificates
  • A copy of the applicant’s last promotion letter
  • Personal Record Form completed and endorsed by the Head of Department

Submission Deadline

All applications must be submitted on or before Friday, May 16, 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further proceedings.
