The Communication minister, Madam Ursula Owusu, has today announced that, the SIM card registration which was supposed to end today, 31st July, 2022 has further been extended to September 2022.
She stated that many Ghanaians are yet to complete their registrations.
Other reasons are inability of the National Identification Authority (NIA) to issue the Ghana Cards to members.
She again disclosed that, many people relaxed with their registration when the date was extended to 31st July, 2022 and there were so much queues at the registration centres until this week when they realized the deadline was today.
She hinted that, apps are being developed to do self registration which will cost Ghc5.00 per registration. The App will be on both android users and IOS users.
However, Ursula stated that Unregistered SIM Cards at the end of August will be barred from enjoying certain services
