Coleman Publications is pleased to share a heartening development for the 2023 cohort of newly trained teachers who have been awaiting recruitment into the Ghana Education Service (GES).
A reassuring message has arrived, sparking renewed optimism as preparatory steps unfold behind the scenes.
According to reliable information received by our newsroom, the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Unit of GES has issued a directive to all School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) across the country.
These officers have been tasked with compiling accurate data on vacancies within schools in their respective circuits, using a standardized template provided by the GES.
“ According to HR, all SISOs MUST compile the vacancies that need to be filled at the various schools within your circuit USING THE ABOVE TEMPLATE. This information is needed for headquarters to post the newly trained teachers to the district in 2025/2026 academic year. Headteachers treat it as urgent , Deadline: 4th August, 2025 Thank you. HRMD Unit.”
This step is critical to ensuring that newly trained teachers are posted in alignment with the actual teaching needs of districts and schools.
The deadline for submission of this vacancy data has been set for 4th August 2025, underscoring the urgency and commitment of GES to streamline the recruitment process.
Speaking earlier this year, the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to recruit 50,000 teachers into the service.
He assured stakeholders that financial clearance for the recruitment was actively being pursued, and that no qualified trained teacher from the 2023 cohort would be left behind.
However, it is important to note that no specific timelines have been announced regarding the actual commencement of the recruitment process or when the financial clearance will be granted.
Nevertheless, all awaiting graduates to stay hopeful. The wheels are in motion, and every necessary effort is being made to facilitate their timely recruitment for the 2025/2026 academic year.
