The Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued a strong alert to the general public regarding fraudulent schemes targeting nursing training applicants.
According to the Ministry, criminal syndicates are posing as admission intermediaries and extorting money from desperate individuals seeking placement in public nursing training colleges.
In a statement, the MoH confirmed that these schemes have persisted over the years, but recent intelligence suggests an alarming rise in deceptive activities.
Victims are lured with false promises of guaranteed admission in exchange for cash—an act the Ministry has categorically labelled as criminal and punishable by law.
“The Ministry of Health has received reports of individuals demanding money from applicants with the false promise of nursing training admission. These are scammers,” the statement noted.
Public Caution and Reporting Mechanism
The MoH is urging citizens to be vigilant and to reject any offer of admission that involves unofficial monetary exchanges.
Applicants are advised to follow proper channels and avoid falling prey to scammers operating in both physical and digital spaces.
