The management of the Student Loan Trust Fund has disbursed a total of Ghc11.2 million as payment of loans to some students in both private and public tertiary institutions in the country. This was disclosed by the Trust Fund on Tuesday.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Student Loan Trust Fund, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah, a total of 10,000 students from 182 tertiary across the country are to benefit from the fund which has been released to various beneficiaries’ accounts.
Mr. Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah has revealed that the disbursement of the fund follows the completion of the latest applications received by the SLTF after the release of the first chief of payments of GHc12 million to applicants in July.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Trust Fund has appealed to beneficiaries of the scheme to ensure that they voluntarily pay back their loans to ensure that the government gets enough funds at all times to run the scheme for the benefit of others.
