Often in life, we seek to devalue our beginnings, and based on that we lack the initiative to move on and pursue our dream. This a wonderful poem that seeks to unravel our potential, our perseverance, and our love for our toil as compared to the water Lilly. ToggleWater Lilly
- I’m a flower that every man adores
They hear my name and feel relieved
Some call me Water Lilly
Others call me sun Lilly
All these appellations are not enough
I would rather that men seek my Genesis
The etymology of my name matters
Among the flowers of the earth, I’m first
However, living creatures don’t like my source - I’m the flower that every man adores
My beginnings will scare you
Down in that muddy swampy area
A seed lies struggling for life
Amid all toxic harmful aquatic reptiles
The water Lilly struggles for life
A plant they say grows with sun and water
I then Lilly have the water without the sun
Deep in the bowels of the marshy soils, I contest for life
My dirty cry reaches the heavens
The sun shows mercy on me
The dying seed now picks the acceleration of growth
With time and continuous perseverance
I resurface on the openings of the waters
Creatures now see me and want to have an encounter with me
Children like to pluck me
And others use me for decoration - Dear friends my source is what makes me who I am
But I don’t remain there
U like me and will always like to encounter me
Have u asked yourself why I’m like that
This is because I didn’t remain there
U mortals like me but You don’t like my Genesis
Learn from my etymology too
And you will be in the hearts of Men like me
Love the Lily? Love her dirty story
My dirty source does not matter now but my fragrance of today
Learn from me and your dirty story will be the fragrance of today.
