The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted Mr. Solomon Sarpong Bagmae, Headmaster of Nkwanta Senior High School in the Nkwanta South Municipality, following an alleged unauthorised media engagement in which he appealed for public assistance to feed students sitting the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

In a formal directive issued by the Oti Regional Education Office, Mr. Bagmae was instructed to step aside from his duties with immediate effect.

The letter, signed by the Acting Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Irene Jacquelinda Aftabra, cited a breach of GES communication protocols.

“This directive follows your alleged unauthorized media engagement on August 4, 2025, during which you reportedly solicited public support for the feeding of students… without prior approval, the letter stated.

The GES emphasized that the interdiction is to allow for an independent and objective investigation into the matter.

Mr. Bagmae has been directed to cease all official functions and avoid making any public statements related to the issue.

“You are to cease all official functions and refrain from making any public statements on the matter,” the letter instructed.

“You are further required to hand over all school property and administrative responsibilities to the Regional Director of Education immediately, pending the outcome of the investigation,” the directive added.

The Ghana Education Service has indicated that further instructions will be communicated in due course.
