GTEC donates vehicles to three Colleges of Education to enhance institutional support

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has donated vehicles to three Public Colleges of Education as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and promote quality education delivery across the tertiary sector.

The beneficiary institutions—SDA College of Education, St. Teresa’s College of Education, and St. Vincent College of Education—each received a vehicle during a brief presentation ceremony held on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Speaking on behalf of the Director-General of GTEC, the Head of Transport, Ms. Rashidatu Barry, noted that the donation aligns with the Commission’s mandate to support tertiary institutions with essential logistics and infrastructure.

“This initiative is part of our commitment to ensuring that Colleges of Education are adequately resourced to carry out their academic and administrative responsibilities effectively,” she stated.

Speaking on behalf of the Director-General of GTEC, the Head of Transport, Ms. Rashidatu Barry, noted that the donation aligns with the Commission’s mandate to support tertiary institutions with essential logistics and infrastructure.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the three colleges, Professor Mrs. Scholastica W. Azuah, Principal of St. Teresa’s College of Education, expressed appreciation to GTEC for the timely intervention.

“We are grateful for this generous support. These vehicles will significantly enhance our operational efficiency, and we assure the Commission that they will be used for their intended purposes,” she said.

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing tertiary education in Ghana.

The commission plays a key role in policy development, quality assurance, and institutional support across universities, colleges, and other higher education institutions.
