The National Teaching Council (NTC) is making urgent preparations to conduct the final phase of the post-graduation Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) for candidates who were unable to sit for the exam held in July 2025.
This upcoming session will also serve as a resit opportunity for those who attempted the GTLE 1 (2025 series) but did not pass.

ToggleFinal Opportunity Before Reforms Begin
This will be the last GTLE conducted under the old format. After this phase, the NTC will fully transition to the reformed GTLE structure, which begins with the current Level 400 teacher trainees across all accredited colleges of education.
Under the new system, the licensure exam will be integrated into final year assessments and will include both theoretical and practical components.
Deadline Set by Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education has directed the NTC to organise this final GTLE session before August 30, 2025.
In response, the Council is working swiftly to finalise arrangements and ensure that all eligible candidates have the opportunity to participate.
Results for June GTLE Coming Soon
Candidates who sat for the July 2025 GTLE should expect the release of their results in the coming days.
The NTC has assured the public that marking is done and computing processing is underway, and results will be published once all procedures are complete.
Final Year Trainees
Meanwhile, final year teacher trainees should begin preparing for the reformed GTLE, which will be administered as part of their final academic assessments.
This new format includes a practical teaching component that contributes 30% of the Pedagogy score, alongside a written paper accounting for the remaining 70%.
Below are the new reforms that the Council will be starting with the current final-year students;
