In a social media post shared by Lala Victor, former National General Secretary and National Coordinator of TTAG, the Association acknowledged the growing concerns among affected graduates and outlined steps being taken to address them.

“The Leadership of TTAG wishes to acknowledge the concerns of the 2023 batch of graduate teachers and the 2022 backlogs regarding their recruitment,” Victor stated.

“I am pleased to inform you that a high-level dialogue has been arranged between the leadership of TTAG, the Hon. Minister for Education, and the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service” he added.

This crucial engagement is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, 2025, and is expected to focus squarely on the status of recruitment and posting.

According to Victor, the meeting is part of TTAG’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and timely resolution of the recruitment delays.

“We remain committed to pushing for timely resolutions and urge all affected graduates to remain calm as we continue engaging stakeholders in your interest,” he added.

Background and Previous Engagements

This latest development follows an earlier meeting held on June 2, 2025, between TTAG and the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The TTAG delegation, led by H.E. Razak Soale, met with the Director-General of GES, Prof. Frank Kofi Davis, alongside key officials, including the Head of Legal Affairs, Internal Auditor, Head of Public Relations, and the General Secretary of GES.

Following the engagement, TTAG released a communiqué outlining several key outcomes:

  • GES had prepared and submitted a comprehensive recruitment budget covering all graduate teachers from public Colleges of Education.
  • The budget was successfully defended and approved by both the Ministry of Finance and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education.
  • The process was awaiting final financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance, after which recruitment and posting would commence.

Prof. Davis was unequivocal in his assurance, stating that recruitment would “certainly take place this year.”

He emphasised his commitment to a smooth and transparent process, noting that this would be his first recruitment exercise since assuming office.

Looking Ahead

With the upcoming dialogue involving TTAG, the Ministry of Education, and GES leadership, graduates are hopeful that concrete timelines and actionable outcomes will emerge.

TTAG has reiterated its dedication to keeping graduates informed and actively engaging relevant authorities to expedite the clearance process.

“We understand the anxiety and frustration among graduates,” TTAG noted in its earlier communiqué. “But we urge all 2023 graduates to remain calm and confident as we push for timely postings.”

As the August 20 meeting approaches, expectations are high among the teachers and education advocates alike.
