The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana, CETAG suspended their strike action on 16th December 2022 to allow the government to address all their outstanding concerns.

The National Council has notified its members that the government was unable to honor its pledge within the two weeks as signed in the communique on 16th December 2022, hence, all members in the 46 Colleges of Education across the country should resume the strike action effective Tuesday, 10th January 2023.

The Council admonished its members to adhere to the decision which they all took on the 14th of December 2022 when they decided to suspend their strike action for two weeks.

Members were also urged to know that they can only be treated better by their employer if they remain united and fight for their deserved Conditions of Service (CoS) which expired in 2020.

Finally, The Council of CETAG informed their members that the Association has been patient with the employer for far too long, and as such, they could no longer entertain further feet-dragging over their CoS which expired in 2020.

Conclusively, The Council reiterated that its members shall only call off their strike action after the FWSC has received the mandate on their remaining generic allowances and the effective date and invited leaders to sign off the MoA on the 2021 CoS.
