The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has noted it has disbursed five months’ worth of allowances to 56,505 teacher trainees across all 47 Public Colleges of Education for the 2024/25 academic year.

In a statement shared by the Chief Executive Officer of the Fund, Dr. Saajida Shiraz, the SLTF confirmed that data for 61,486 trainees had been submitted for processing.
However, inconsistencies in 4,981 entries have temporarily stalled payments for the remaining students.
“We are fixing data errors, and the remaining trainees will be paid soon,” Dr. Shiraz assured.
“We are working with the institutions to rectify errors with the data of the 4,981 remaining students, and will pay as soon as we reach a resolution,” she added.
Dr. Shiraz emphasized the Fund’s commitment to transparency and equitable financial support, noting that the SLTF has instituted new verification protocols to minimize future delays.
“We understand the frustration these delays cause, and we are determined to improve the system. Every trainee deserves timely support, and we are doing everything possible to make that happen.”
In light of the ongoing resolution process, teacher trainees whose payments are still pending are urged to remain patient.
The SLTF has assured that once the data anomalies are corrected, the remaining allowances will be paid without further delay.

Please will the continued students that have not received allowance since they entered into the college be given the allowance of the previous academic years?
Yes, continued students who have not received their allowances since enrolling in college will be paid—but only if their data issues have been resolved and their correct information has been successfully submitted to the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).
