The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially released the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic year for all second-cycle institutions across the country.
In a circular dated August 20, 2025, the Service directed all Regional Directors to disseminate the calendar to Heads of Schools and ensure strict compliance to promote consistency and effective teaching and learning.
“The Service counts on your usual cooperation to ensure effective teaching and learning in our institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year.”
According to the directive, first-year students in both Single Track and Transitional Schools are expected to report on October 18, 2025.
The calendar outlines key term dates, holidays, and examination periods, including the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), scheduled from April 20 to June 20, 2026.
