The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School Candidates.

WAEC has confirmed that results will be dispatched to schools through the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education.
Additionally, candidates may access their individual results online via the Council’s official website: https://eresults.waecgh.org/
How to Check Your 2025 BECE Results Online
To check your results, Dial *790*024# to buy your Checker or visit https://buycheckersnow.com to buy one, then follow these steps:
- Visit the official BECE result portal: https://eresults.waecgh.org/
- Enter your Index Number: Input your 10-digit BECE index number.
- Select Examination Type: Choose “BECE (School)” from the dropdown.
- Select Examination Year: Choose “2025”.
- Enter your Serial Number and PIN: These are found on the BECE result checker you bought.
- Confirm and Submit: Review your details and click “Submit” to view your results.
- Print or Save: You may print or download your results for future reference.
Candidate Statistics
This year’s BECE saw a total of 603,328 candidates from 20,395 schools nationwide.
The cohort included:
- 297,250 males and 306,078 females
- 72 candidates with visual impairment
- 239 with hearing impairment
- 161 candidates with other special accommodations
The examination was conducted across 2,237 centres, with 2,526 candidates recorded as absent.
Examination Irregularities and Sanctions
Following investigations into reported cases of malpractice, the 36th Meeting of the Final Awards and Examiners’ Appointment Committee approved the following actions:
- Subject results cancelled for 718 candidates
- The entire results were cancelled for 177 candidates
- Subject results withheld for 1,240 candidates
- The entire results withheld for 93 candidates
Further scrutiny is ongoing for candidates from 119 schools whose subject results have been cancelled, and 87 schools with withheld results.
Final decisions on these cases are expected by September 6, 2025.

Candidates with cancelled or withheld results are advised to visit https://irreg.waec.org or click the “withheld/cancelled” button on the WAEC homepage.
This portal provides detailed reasons for the sanctions and outlines next steps.
Heads of schools and proprietors may also access this information using their institutional login credentials.
Fraud Alert
WAEC has issued a strong warning against fraudsters who claim they can alter results for a fee. The Council emphasises that its results are secure, verifiable, and cannot be manipulated.
