The Akatakyiman Rural Bank has stepped up to support education in the town of Komenda, located in the Central Region of Ghana.
Specifically, seven basic schools in the area have received a much-needed presentation of 70 desks from the bank.
This generous donation was made during a special gathering at the Komenda Chief Palace on May 24th, 2023, where the heads of the schools and other members of the educational community were in attendance.

Mr. Kum, the Board Chairman and President of the Central Regional Association of Rural Banks, as well as a member of the National Council of Rural Banks, led the initiative to donate the desks.

The donation is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to address the desk deficit challenge that many of the basic schools in the community are currently facing.
The presentation of the desks to the seven schools represents an important investment in the future of education in Komenda.
The bank recognizes the vital role that schools play in the community – not only as centers of learning, but also as incubators for future leaders and contributors to society.

During the presentation, the heads of the schools were reminded of their responsibility to ensure the desks are well-maintained and protected.

It was also emphasized that a commitment to maintenance culture is the only way to ensure that the desks provide quality and much-needed support for the students for years to come.
The donation from the Akatakyiman Rural Bank is a significant contribution to the development of education in Komenda.
