Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is a significant Islamic holiday that commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.

It is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar.

The announcement of the statutory public holiday for Eid-ul-Adha is in line with the government’s commitment to promoting religious tolerance and inclusivity in the country.

The Ministry of Interior urges all citizens to observe the holiday ensuring unity, peace, and harmony in our communities.
