National Teaching Council Announces Date for 2023 Ghana Teacher Licensure Exam for Newly Trained Teachers

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced the date for the 2023 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination for newly trained teachers.

This exam is exclusively for Bachelor of Education Degree holders and holders of Post Graduate Diploma in Education. The exam will be subject and level-based, meaning candidates will write the examination in their subject area of specialization (major subject) in addition to General Paper and General Pedagogy.

Data Upload

To comply with the implementation of the reforms in the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE), the Council requests that details of all qualified graduates be uploaded on the National Teaching Council’s portal HERE with these specific headings in an Excel format;

1. Index Number
2. Surname
3. Middle Name
4. First Name
5. Date of Birth
6. Sex
7. Program
8. Program Qualification
9. Year of Admission
10. Year of Graduation
11. Class
12. Email address
13. Telephone number

Deadline

The deadline for uploading is not later than the 30th of June 2023, and the registration of students for the examination starts on the 1st of July 2023.

No Diploma graduate is permitted to register and sit for the examination.

This means that only Bachelor of Education Degree holders and holders of Post Graduate Diploma in Education are eligible to register and sit for the exam.

Graduates are encouraged to upload their particulars on the National Teaching Council’s portal before the deadline to avoid any complications.
