Komenda College of Education on 21st January 2022 Organized an A-Day workshop on Supported Teaching in Schools for its Level 300 Students.
Supported Teaching in schools (STS) lies at the heart of the Bachelor of Education. It is through STS that the student teachers apply and develop the skills, knowledge and understanding acquired in their college-based training in schools, and with the support of mentors and link tutors.
Mr. Insaidoo who is The STS coordinator for Komenda College of Education said; the purpose for the workshop is to inculcate, guide and enlighten the students as to how they should go about this semester’s STS.
The workshop which started with some ice breakers from Mrs. Charlotte Adomah to welcome the participants was fully packed with activities. Some of which include; understanding what Action Research entails, how the content of the STS Handbook is organized(scanning the STS handbook) , Identifying examples of activities for PTP, CP and CEAR in Semesters 1 & 2 and Presentations on PTP, CP and CEAR activities.
Facilitators for the event were; Mr. Daniel Kofi Nkum, Madam Nana Adam Yawson, Mr Frempong Barnes, Mr Mark Eghan, Ms. Victoria Amankrah, Ms. Aba Mensah, Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri and Madam Sabina Amos.
These facilitators really took their time to elaborate the learners on each and every activity assigned them with. Questions from learners were answered with clarity and accuracy.
