Colleges of Education 2025/2026 Application Deadline Extended

The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has officially extended the deadline for the sale of admission forms for all public Colleges of Education for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The closing date, originally set for August 31, 2025, has been extended to September 30, 2025, providing prospective applicants with additional time to apply.

In a circular signed by Prof. Samuel A. Atintono, and addressed to all College Principals, PRINCOF emphasised that the extension aims to accommodate more qualified candidates, including those who may still be finalising their documentation.

How to Apply for the 2025/2026 Colleges of Education Admission

Prospective applicants can obtain the online application PIN in two ways:

  • At any Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) branch nationwide, or
  • Via mobile money by dialing *924*8# on all networks (MTN, Telecel, Airtel Money, and Tigo Cash).

Once the voucher is obtained, applicants must:

  1. Visit the official admission portal at admission.coeportal.edu.gh
  • Log in with the provided PIN and Serial Number.
  • Fill out the online form with accurate personal and academic details.
  • Upload a recent passport-sized photograph (JPG/JPEG format, not exceeding 40 KB).
  • Select up to three Colleges of Education in order of preference and indicate one Ghanaian Language.
  • Preview and submit the form.
  • Print the completed application and post it, together with a passport photo and results slip(s), via EMS (Ghana Post) to the Principal of the applicant’s first-choice College.

Applicants are advised to keep their phone numbers active to receive SMS updates on their admission status.

Admission Requirements for Colleges of Education in Ghana

Applicants must meet one of the following academic criteria:

  • WASSCE: At least six (6) credit passes (A1–C6), comprising three core subjects (English Language, Mathematics, and either Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three elective subjects relevant to the chosen programme.
  • SSSCE: At least six (6) credit passes (A–D) in the same structure (three core plus three electives).
  • Applicants with TVET, GCE, ABCE, GBCE, and equivalent foreign qualifications may also apply, subject to verification and approval.
