Coleman Publications has recently received a wave of inquiries from prospective teacher trainees across the country, all asking the same pressing question: “When will the Colleges of Education start issuing admission notices for the 2025/2026 academic year?”
With the application deadline set at August 31, anticipation is building, and we believe it’s time to offer clarity and guidance to all applicants who are anxiously awaiting their next steps.
According to the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education in Ghana (PRINCOF), as of 2025, Ghana now has 47 Public Colleges of Education, up from the previous count of 46.
These institutions continue to play a vital role in preparing the next generation of teachers through the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme, which spans four years and covers specializations such as Early Childhood, Primary, Junior High School (JHS), and Technical/Vocational Education.
Following the close of applications on August 31, 2025, the admission process will enter its next phase.
According to reliable sources, admission notices will begin rolling out from September 2025.
Each college will release its list based on its internal processing schedule, so while some applicants may receive their notifications early in the month, others may need to wait a few weeks longer.

ToggleHow will you know you’ve been admitted?
Well, successful applicants will be notified primarily via SMS, sent directly to the phone number provided during the application process.
These messages will contain essential details, including confirmation of admission and instructions for accessing the official admission letter.
That is, the message will include a PIN, a reference number, and a link to download your admission letter.
Applicants are strongly advised to keep their phones active and ensure that the number used during registration remains accessible.
In addition to SMS notifications, applicants can also check School’s notices board when the lists are official pasted.
Follow the instructions in the letter regarding fee payment, registration, and reporting dates.
NOTE: No College of Education will send an SMS or call requesting payment before admission is secured. All official instructions are clearly stated in the admission letter
Admission Process
Admission into the Colleges of Education is competitive and based on academic merit.
Applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements, including credit passes in six subjects for WASSCE/SSSCE candidates—three core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant electives.
There are also provisions for GCE A-Level holders, TVET students, and applicants with special needs, with designated colleges offering support for visually and hearing-impaired students.
