Colleges of Education Affiliated to AAMUSTED

There are currently Forty-Seven (47) Public Colleges of Education spread across the country, each dedicated to shaping the next generation of educators.

These colleges are affiliated to the various public universities to ensure quality training for aspiring teachers.

Notably, eight (8) of these colleges are affiliated to the Apenteng Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED)

List of Affiliated Colleges

The Public Colleges of Education affiliated to Apenteng Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) include:

  • Ada College of Education, Ada
  • St. John Bosco’s College of Education, Navrongo
  • Wiawso College of Education, Wiawso
  • Bagabaga College of Education, Tamale
  • Mampong Technical College of Education, Mampong, Ashanti
  • Komenda College of Education, Komenda
  • Akatsi College of Education, Akatsi
  • N. J. Ahamadiyya College of Education, Wa

Certification

Students who successfully complete their programmes at these colleges are awarded certificates by the Apenteng Appiah Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED)

Admission Requirements

To gain admission into any of the affiliated colleges listed above, prospective students must meet specific academic criteria based on their educational backgrounds:

Applicants with WASSCE results should possess Credit passes (A1-C6) in three (3) CORE subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and credit passes in three (3) relevant Elective subjects.

SSSCE applicants are required to have credit passes (A-D) in three (3) CORE subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, along with credit passes in three (3) relevant Elective subjects.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) applicants must hold a TVET Certificate II with a Lower Credit (C-) or better in six (6) subjects, comprising three core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies) and three relevant Elective subjects.
