Kibi Presbyterian College of Education graduates 569 student teachers with 125 first class honours

The Kibi Presbyterian College of Education has held its 17th Congregation, graduating a total of 569 newly trained teachers in a colourful ceremony that also featured the commissioning of new college infrastructure to support academic and staff development.

The graduation, held on Friday, August 29, 2025, was themed “Empowering Educators: The Role of Emotional Intelligence in Shaping the Future of Teaching.”

The ceremony brought together education stakeholders, alumni, traditional leaders, and families to honour the achievements of the graduating class and unveil major developments aimed at strengthening the College’s role in teacher education.

The academic performance of the graduating cohort reflected high standards, with a significant number achieving top honours.

In his address, the Principal, Rev. Charles Fosu-Ayarkwah (PhD) commended the graduates for their commitment, noting that their success demonstrated resilience, discipline, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s education system.

He emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence in the teaching profession, describing it as a vital skill for creating inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environments.

The ceremony also marked a significant milestone for the College with the commissioning of the Talent Development Centre and new staff flats, investments expected to improve both student learning and staff welfare.

College leadership explained that these projects form part of broader efforts to modernize teacher training infrastructure and attract high-quality educators to the institution.

Kibi Presbyterian College of Education, one of Ghana’s prominent teacher training institutions, continues to play a crucial role in shaping professional educators who combine academic excellence with ethical responsibility.

Through its affiliation with the University of Cape Coast, UCC, the College delivers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programmes aligned with national education reforms.
