The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem, has announced the suspension of their 2024 SRC Week Celebration until the resumption of academic activities.

According to a statement released on 25th July, 2024, this decision follows a directive from their College Management and is attributed to the ongoing College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) strike.

“Following a directive from the College Management, the SRC Week Celebration has been suspended until the resumption of academic activities,” the statement reads.

The SRC cited several factors contributing to the suspension in the statement released to the student teachers.

These include the withdrawal of all services by CETAG, including academic counseling, supervision, and attendance at college events, leading to uncertainty and disruption.

They also added that, the strike has raised security concerns on campus, making it difficult to ensure a safe environment for the SRC Week celebration.

“The current situation has unfortunately led to heightened security concerns, making it difficult to guarantee a safe and enjoyable environment for our SRC Week Celebration”
