The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has confirmed the disbursement of GH₵ 67,671,080 as part of the non-feeding component of teacher trainee allowances.
This payment has benefited 30,157 students across 37 Public Colleges of Education nationwide.
In a statement by SLTF’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Saadija Shiraaz, the disbursement followed the receipt of funds from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), with the final tranche received on July 29, 2025.
Actual payments commenced on August 1, based on verified student data available at the time.
“We proceeded to pay teacher trainee allowances of five months to 30,157 students in 37 Public Colleges of Education based on the data available to us at the time,” Dr. Shiraaz confirmed.
The SLTF further noted that it is currently processing additional data submitted by other Colleges of Education and assured that disbursements will continue as soon as the information is verified through its pre-audit processes.
“We are currently receiving more student data from the Colleges of Education and will pay as soon as that data is received and cleared,” Dr. Shiraaz added.
The Fund reiterated its commitment to ensuring timely and accurate payments as part of efforts to support teacher trainees across the country.
Therefore, the over 36k teacher trainees who have not yet received their allowances are to note that funds are already available.
The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) will disburse these allowances once their data verification is completed.
They are urged to remain calm, as they will receive their stipends soon.
