The final year students of colleges of education who are currently undergoing their internship in various partner schools are reminded of the importance of this phase in their training.
The internship, which began in January 2023, is expected to last for a minimum of twelve weeks, during which time the trainees will gain practical experience in teaching and learning.
With the Basic schools set to vacate on the 24th of March, 2023 and resume on April 3rd, the trainees are required to take a break and resume with the schools, spending an additional five weeks to complete the mandatory 12-week period as demanded by the B.Ed programme.
This extension provides a unique opportunity for trainees to observe and participate in the school’s academic and social activities, thereby enhancing their overall training experience.

It is essential to note that the trainees will be completing their internship on Friday, May 5th, 2023, and will proceed on a well-deserved vacation from May 6th to June 2nd, 2023.
During this period, they are advised to rest, reflect and recharge in preparation for the next phase of their training
Resumption
Furthermore, trainees are reminded that they will be resuming academic activities on June 3rd, 2023, at their various colleges to commence the first phase of the second semester.
This first phase is expected to last for five weeks, during which time the trainees will receive theoretical and practical training to consolidate their learning experiences during the internship.
