The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has issued an important clarification regarding the ongoing registration for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).

According to the National Secretariat of TTAG, the current GTLE registration is strictly for Level 400 teacher trainees who are due to complete their training and transition into professional teaching.
This clarification follows recent concerns and confusion among trained teachers who couldn’t take part in the GTLE I held in July 2025, and the level 400 trainees who were uncertain about their eligibility to participate in the ongoing registration exercise.
TTAG emphasized that “all others yet to sit for the exam should kindly wait for subsequent sittings,” reaffirming that only final-year (Level 400) students can register at this stage.
The GTLE, conducted under the supervision of the National Teaching Council (NTC), is a professional examination that ensures teacher trainees meet the required standards before entering the classroom as licensed educators.
