The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has extended its appreciation to the Government for the disbursement of five months’ allowances to teacher trainees across all 47 public Colleges of Education.

In a statement dated August 4, 2025, issued by TTAG’s National Secretariat, the association described the intervention as a timely boost that underscores the government’s sustained commitment to the development and welfare of future educators.

According to TTAG, the payments will significantly ease financial pressures on trainees, supporting both academic engagement and personal well-being.

“The disbursement will greatly alleviate financial pressures faced by trainees and support our academic and personal well-being,”

TTAG also commended the Ministry of Education, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), and other stakeholders for their coordinated efforts in facilitating the disbursements.

The association reassured trainees—especially those yet to receive their allowances—that ongoing dialogue with SLTF and relevant agencies remains active to ensure continued payments from July onward.

“We assure all Teacher Trainees, particularly those yet to receive their allowances, that we will sustain our engagement with the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) and all relevant Stakeholders to facilitate the payment as they await the student details and uninterrupted monthly allowance disbursements, from July moving forward.”

“We encourage all Teacher Trainees to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to the values of the teaching profession as we prepare to serve Ghana with excellence,” the statement concluded.

The association reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the collective interests of trainees nationwide, calling for unity and professionalism within its ranks.
