The President of The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana, Hon. Jonathan Dzunu has issued a missive to prompt final-year trainees to halt payment of the first-semester examination fee until further notice.

The Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast wrote earlier on directing all final year students to make payment of Gh¢370.00 as a first-semester examination fee.

However, TTAG is of the view that Its members never sat for any examination during the first semester as they were then having their practicum.

This has raised a lot of brouhahas between the Institute and the Trainees Association.

A recent message from the office of the President of TTAG is reminding all the trainees to halt payment as the association further steps to engage authorities to seek redress for the fee charged for the first semester.

The communique reads;

“We write to remind all our fellow trainees of our directive issued on 15th September 2022 cited TTAG/RLS/22/013 on the above subject matter and emphasize that trainees should halt payment of the GhC370.00 indicated as the first-semester examination fee until further notice.

The leadership has taken further steps to engage authorities to seek redress for the fee charged for the first semester. We want to assure all and sundry of our commitment to ensuring that all final-year students graduate peacefully.

We reiterate that all local and sector executives of TTAG are to ensure that all final year trainees adhere strictly to this directive until they hear conclusively from the National Secretariat on this subject.”
