The New Acting Director General of The National Service Authority (NSA), Ruth Seddoh, has disclosed a revised start date for the 2025/2026 national service year.
The service, originally scheduled to begin on October 1, will now commence on November 1, 2025.
According to her, the change is to allow adequate time to complete the necessary preparatory processes, including the activation and testing of the national service portal ahead of the new service year.
The Director confirmed that portal activation and registration for prospective service personnel will open soon.
This process will enable ‘final year graduates’(from the various Universities) to enroll, select preferred service regions, and receive their placements ahead of the November start date.
She also assured that the one-month adjustment will not affect the duration of the service year or the allocation of allowances.
The shift, she said, is purely administrative and aimed at ensuring a smooth placement and deployment process.
The National Service Scheme, now operating under the newly established National Service Authority, deploys thousands of graduates each year to support key sectors including education, health, agriculture, and local governance, among others.
The NSA has urged all eligible graduates to monitor its official and verified social media platforms for updates on registration timelines, placement procedures, and other essential instructions.
