2025 BECE Rescheduled to June 11-18 due to Eid-ul-Adha – Check the Final Timetable

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a change in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) schedule for school candidates in 2025.

The examination, initially planned for an earlier date, will now be held from Wednesday, June 11th to Wednesday, June 18th, 2025.

The rescheduling follows the release of the final timetable by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), and is attributed to the anticipated celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, which is tentatively slated for Saturday, June 7th, 2025.

WAEC officials explained that in consideration of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays and the potential declaration of Monday, June 9th and Tuesday, June 10th as public holidays, the decision to postpone the BECE was deemed necessary to avoid disruptions.

The GES, in a letter dated April 24, 2025, and addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, confirmed the revised examination dates.

The letter instructs Regional Directors to disseminate the final BECE timetable to Metro, Municipal, and District Directors of Education, as well as all relevant Heads of Basic Schools within their respective regions.

The management of GES has urged all stakeholders to take note of the revised dates and to ensure that all preparations are in place to facilitate a smooth and successful examination process.
