Eligibility

According to UEW, a candidate qualifies for the 2025 GTLE (reformed) only if:

- Multiple Subjects Content: For Early Grade, Early Childhood, or Primary teacher trainees.
- Single Subject Specialism: For Junior High, Senior High, or Technical/Vocational Education trainees.

Practical Teaching Practice – now part of pedagogy scoring, accounting for 30% of the total score, while the theoretical pedagogy paper contributes 70%.

Indexing and Registration Process

Before registering, candidates must be indexed via the National Teaching Council (NTC) portal.

Students should confirm their data upload status at https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh.

An indexing fee of GHC 50.00 is required, payable at any Prudential Bank branch nationwide or via mobile money using *772*51#.

Upon successful payment, candidates will receive an indexing number by SMS, which is used for GTLE registration.

For GTLE registration:

A fee of GHC 450.00 is required for the three papers.

Payment can again be made at Prudential Bank or via the same mobile short code.

Candidates must log on to exams.ntc.gov.gh using their PIN and serial number, fill in the required fields, and upload a passport-size photo (less than 250kb, white background).

Advice and Caution

Payment should be made only after confirming that one’s details have been uploaded to the indexing portal by their institution.

Candidates without uploaded details or who are unqualified will not be refunded if they make payments.

The NTC will not accept any request to change photographs after the examination.

Candidates are advised to carefully review all information, print a summary, and read examination regulations before submitting.
