Accra College of Education is one of the foremost public colleges of education in Ghana.

Established on September 8, 1909, the college has a rich history of providing quality teacher education to Ghana’s future educators.

Formerly known as Accra Teacher Training College (ATTRACO), Accra College of Education has played a significant role in shaping Ghana’s education system.

The college has undergone several transformations over the years to align with current global education standards.

Accra College of Education offers a diverse range of programmes designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their profession.

Since its inception, the college has run numerous programmes, and currently, it offers a four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme.

The B.Ed. Programme includes three specializations, namely;

1. Early Childhood Education
2. Primary Education
3. Junior High School (JHS) Education.

The JHS Education programme at Accra College of Education is unique, as it offers seven specializations that students can choose from. These include

The general requirement for admission to the 4-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme is as follows:

WASSCE Holders:

CREDIT PASSES (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of

SSSCE Holders:

CREDIT PASSES (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising Three(3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.

1. Purchase an E-Voucher

• Buy your COE Admission E-voucher from any Consolidated Bank Ghana branch or via Mobile Money (MTN, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo).
• The voucher contains a Serial Number and PIN needed to access the portal.

2. Access the Online Portal

• Visit the Colleges of Education Admission Portal.
• Enter your Serial Number and PIN, then click Login.

3. Complete the Application Form

• Fill in all required personal and academic details.
• Upload a passport-sized photo (JPG/JPEG format, max 40KB).
• Use the Preview button to:
  • Edit your application
  • Save and continue later
  • Submit and print confirmation

4. Print and Post Required Documents

• Print two copies of your confirmation page.
• Attach:
  • Your results slips
  • Any other relevant documents
  • One passport photo
• Send them via EMS envelope from Ghana Post to the Principal of the College
• Quote your Application Reference/Form Number on the envelope.
