Ada College of Education is a prestigious teacher education college located in Greater Accra, Ghana.

It is one of the 46 Public Colleges of Education in the country, established with a clear vision of being a center of excellence in the production of disciplined, resourceful, and self-motivated teachers.

The college aims to train competent teachers imbued with professional and academic competencies and skills in general and technical education for basic schools in Ghana.

The college’s motto, ‘Awareness, Curiosity, and Compassion,’ resonates with its mission to provide quality education to the next generation of teachers.

Ada College of Education believes in nurturing these values in its students, so that they become more aware of their surroundings, curious about the world, and compassionate towards others.

Affiliated with the University of Education, UEW, Winneba, Ada College of Education has a reputation for academic excellence and is recognized for providing top-notch education to its students.

Current Courses Offered at Ada College of Education

Since its foundation, Ada College of Education has run several programmes aimed at producing highly skilled and competent teachers for basic schools in Ghana.

The college currently offers a four-year B.Ed programme, with specializations in;

  1. Primary Education
  2. JHS Education

The JHS programme is designed to provide students with specialized knowledge and skills in;
1.Science
2.Mathematics
3. Technical Skills
4. Vocational Skills
5. Visual Arts
6. Agricultural Science.

It is important to note that D7 is not an accepted grade for admission into the Ada College of Education.

The only guarantee for gaining admission is to pass the WASSCE with good grades ranging from A1-C6.

Admission Requirements

The general requirement for admission to the 4-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme is as follows:

WASSCE Holders:

CREDIT PASSES (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of

SSSCE Holders:

CREDIT PASSES (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising Three(3) Core subjects, including English Language, and Core Mathematics, and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
