“We were both residing in the same community but we came back to our hometown to spend the holiday. He decided to report to school today and later come to pick me to join him, but no sooner had he left this morning than the heart wrenching news of his demise was broken to me.”

These are the lamentation of a wife whose husband was crushed to death in the morning of Tuesday, October 3 on the Agona Nkwanta-Takoradi Highway in the Western Region of Ghana.

The deceased, Emmanuel Ntonah, 30, a JHS teacher at Santiaw near Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West District, had left his ancestral village, Komfoeku, in the Shama District where he had come together with his wife to spend the vacation.

He was reporting to school on the first day of reopening on a motorbike when he was reportedly hit by a speeding Sprinter bus from the opposite direction, killing him instantly.

His mortal remains have since been deposited at a private morgue at Apimanim while investigation continues on the circumstances leading to the accident.

The wife, Eunice Ntonah, who narrated the sad incident to Connect FM‘s Omanbapa morning show host, Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, in a very sorrowful mood, says she is yet to be briefed officially about how this whole debacle occurred.

“Coming December would be one year since we married and he has left me behind just like that,” she tearfully concluded
