A level 400 student of the University of Education, Winneba has tragically taken her own life by hanging in her hostel room.
According to reports, Rita was found lifeless in her hostel room, where she had hanged herself using a rope tied to a ceiling fan.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the Sir Charles Beach hostel in Winneba, where the deceased resided during her time on campus.
Rita was an ICT student, known for her bright personality and dedication to her studies.
She had recently returned to campus to begin her mandatory industrial attachment, which was scheduled to commence on the same day she took her life.

The motive behind her suicide remains unknown, as friends and fellow students who saw her prior to the tragic event mentioned that she seemed normal and showed no signs of distress.

The Winneba police have taken possession of the body as they begin investigations into the tragic incident.
