The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reopened its 2025 Teacher Promotion Portal, inviting applications from qualified teaching staff for several senior ranks within the service.

The call affects positions including Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, Assistant Director II, and Principal Superintendent.
Promotion Qualifications
To be eligible for promotion, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:
| Promotion Rank | Requirement |
| Deputy Director | Must have been promoted to Assistant Director I on or before 2021 and continuously in post since then (excluding approved leave). |
| Assistant Director I | Must have achieved promotion to Assistant Director II in or before 2021 and remained continuously in post since then. |
| Assistant Director II | Must have been promoted to Principal Superintendent in or before 2021 and continuously in post. |
| Principal Superintendent | Must have been Senior Superintendent I in or before 2021; those with an approved undergraduate degree may be automatically placed in this rank. |
Additionally, applicants who plan to rely on Master’s or PhD degrees must ensure the following:

- The degree programme must be an approved course of study under GES.
- The degree certificate must have been awarded after the previous promotion.
- For promotions to Deputy Director, Assistant Director I, or Assistant Director II based on postgraduate qualifications, the degree should have been obtained on or before 2023.

Applicants should note the following steps and requirements:

- Complete the online application form via the new GES’s portal HERE
- Upload supporting documents, including:
- A recent passport-size photograph (jpeg, jpg, or png format)
- The last promotion, appointment, or upgrading letter
- The highest academic certificate relevant to the promotion (in PDF format)
- Ensure all uploads are clear and legible.
- The application window opens on Thursday, September 11, 2025, and closes on Friday, October 2, 2025.
- Teachers who previously applied must reapply under this reopened window.
