NaCCA Delays Withdrawal of Our World Our People Curriculum

Share:

The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has announced that the removal of the Our World Our People (OWOP) curriculum from primary schools will now take place in the 2025/2026 academic year, instead of the previously stated 2024/2025 academic year.

In a letter dated 28th June, 2024, NaCCA revealed that following a meeting with the Select Committee on Education of Parliament and the Ghana Publishers Association (GPA), a decision was reached to delay the withdrawal of OWOP.

The meeting agreed on a roadmap which includes using the OWOP textbook as supplementary reading material even after the 2025/2026 academic year, as strands and sub-strands from OWOP will be incorporated into other subjects.
