The reasons for the repeated delays in allowance payment remain unclear, exacerbating the situation for many service personnel.

One NSP, Benjamin, expressed his reliance on financial support from his grandfather due to the prolonged delay in receiving his allowance.

“Looking at it, for more than three months, the government has decided not to pay us. Some of us are relying on our grandparents every day.”

In response to the situation, a statement from the National Service Secretariat explained that the payment delays were due to service personnel not submitting their verification slips on time, leading to a rigorous validation process.
