NTC Trains NTS Compliance Officers to Start Collecting Data on Teachers from This Date

The NTC has called upon educational institutions in the specified regions to extend full cooperation to the Compliance Officers during their visits

The National Teaching Council (NTC) is currently conducting a workshop for Compliance Officers across various regions in Ghana to ensure adherence to the National Teachers Standards (NTS) in second-cycle educational institutions.

The program, which kicked off in Kumasi on Thursday, 7th March, 2024, is set to conclude on Tuesday, 12th March, 2024.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, the Registrar of NTC, highlighted the significance of the NTS outlined in the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020.

He emphasized the importance of implementing these standards, as they serve as a comprehensive guide for teacher preparation and practice nationwide.

The NTS aim to set a benchmark for professional knowledge, conduct, and expectations within the education sector.

Dr. Addai-Poku urged Compliance Officers to assist teachers in upholding these standards while emphasizing the importance of collecting accurate information from the field to drive informed decision-making.

The Compliance Officers are scheduled to visit both public and private second-cycle institutions in regions such as Ashanti, Central, Western, Greater Accra, Eastern, and Volta from 18th March to 29th March, 2024, for data collection purposes.
