The Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem has held its 17th Congregation and Graduation Ceremony, conferring degrees on 658 newly trained teachers in a ceremony that celebrated academic excellence and the College’s commitment to inclusive education.
The event, held on August 27, 2025, was themed “Leaving No Learner Behind: Advancing Equity and Excellence through Inclusive Teacher Preparation.”
It brought together education stakeholders, families, traditional leaders, alumni, and students to honour the achievements of the graduating class and reflect on the evolving demands of Ghana’s education sector.
The academic performance of the graduating cohort was particularly impressive, with the majority attaining First- and Second-Class Honours:

The Principal, Rev. Dr. Nicholas Apreh Siaw commended the graduates for their dedication and hard work, noting that the results were a reflection of both their perseverance and the institution’s commitment to quality teacher education.
Speaking at the ceremony, he highlighted the importance of producing teachers who can adapt to diverse learning needs, ensuring that no learner is left behind in the pursuit of academic excellence.
The theme, he noted, underscores the urgency of training educators who are both competent and compassionate — capable of reaching every child, regardless of background or ability.
The Valedictorian, Master Anu Caleb, emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student with an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.91.
His outstanding performance was widely commended by the college and guests, symbolizing the dedication, discipline, and quality of training offered by the institution.
The Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong-Akuapem, one of the nation’s oldest and most respected teacher training institutions, has for decades been at the forefront of shaping professional educators who contribute significantly to Ghana’s basic education system.
Through its affiliation with the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), the College continues to deliver the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programmes aligned with national teacher education reforms.
